A friend of Israel

The Town Hall editorial, Living in Terror (http://www.townhall.com/columnists/FredThompson/2007/05/30/living_in_terror) set the tone on Fred's thoughts regarding Israel and the Palestinians.

“Israel is at war,” Thompson wrote for the conservative website Townhall.com. And the Jewish state has gone to “incredible lengths to stop the war against them without harming Palestinian non-combatants.”

Now Fred will reportedly take his support for Israel one step further. According to Israel Today, he's off for a visit there sometime soon. http://www.israeltoday.co.il/default.aspx?tabid=178&nid=12993

While most candidates parse themselves into linguistic contortions over the Middle East, it's refreshing to see this candor.
